it has been a good (7) weeks since i've last attended a kh meeting.
this weekend, however, the calls of "encouragement" came rolling in.
on saturday, a brother (actually a very decent, likable, and genuine man) left me a message and said that he misses me at the meetings.
I got some of those 'we miss you comments' when I first stopped attending. Once a car group saw me oustide of their donut stop and all the sisters came over, gave me hugs and told me how much they missed me. I smiled and said that I think they really don't miss be at all. Oh they all insisted how much they missed me. I said "let me remind you sisters that I haven't moved or changed my phone number".
The smiles disappeared faster than a sperm donar.
60 minutes tonight, special on aborting all the baby girls in india, it has become an epidemic so severe they have placed a ban on tests that predetermine the childs sex.
now women are going underground to find out the sex of the child and abort it if it is a female.
this has caused an imbalance in the population and men are having a difficult time finding wives.
Well I'm one of those anti abortion freaks but this is above an beyond horrible. I had no idea this was going on. It would be bad enough if they were putting all girls up for adoption, but killing them just because?

I would be very disturbed, with member of my family it would disgust me.How low in morale one person can go?Everything that have to do with that sort of behavier is to me,revolting.
More people feel like you than are willing to admit it. I respect your honesty. But I'll bet you a penny if you met me you wouldn't feel revolted and would end up liking me as a friend. I'm bisexual but actually find myself more attracted to women than men.
My parents were distrubed at first. I think the average parent would be. A loving parent wants their child to enjoy what is best in life and at first glance being gay might seem as bad as it gets. I knew my parents wouldn't be happy but they've more than accepted it. Mom has gone so far as to request details of my sex life. She understands it much better now of course.
Now I have no problem bringing lesbian or bi friends over to the house. When we go skiing there is a lesbian friend of mine that my parents love and they always invite her themselves.
My dad admitted that it would have been more difficult if he had a son that was gay, but he's met gay friends of mine and enjoys their company as much as if they were straight. I once told him that none of my gay friends thought he was hot and he pretended to be offended by that. He said he'd have to take better care of himself. Funny guy and I love him and mom to death.
we got this call from one of the elders who df'd one of our loved ones.he wanted to know where so and so lives,phone # etc.this after two and a half years.they wanted to make contact to see if that one wanted to return to the congregation.
( not like the prodigal,who was restored on the spot by his father,rather ,by sitting for six months in the back of the hall and given the silent treatment.
he admitted tha elders can't read the heart and make mistakes 'mistakes' destroying someones life is a mistake??
My parents have been DAed for nearly 3 years now and they've never been offered a visit or received a visit from the elders. I'm pretty sure that since they are so outspoken that they aren't welcom back.
